Paid reselling groups in 2026: what they cost, how buyers rate them, and what to check before you subscribe
By Karel Moreau · 51 groups · 17,074 verified Whop reviews
The typical paid reselling group costs about 35 a month. Across 51 groups selling Pokémon and collectible-card alerts, sneaker restock monitors, retail and vintage sourcing leads and ticket drops, the median was 34.64 per 30 days in the listed currency, with the middle half between 21 and 72. 82% of rated groups score 4.8 stars or higher, so ratings do little to separate them; 29% advertise income or profit figures; 5 state that all sales are final.
What a month costs, by type of group
| Type of group | Priced listings | Median per 30 days | Middle 50% |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon and collectible cards | 19 | 25.00 | 9–50 |
| Sneakers, restocks and monitors | 10 | 34.29 | 30–46 |
| Retail, vintage and sourcing | 12 | 34.50 | 20–61 |
| Ticket groups | 6 | 77.00 | 68–80 |
| Other reselling | 3 | 89.00 | 60–94 |
Prices are in each listing's own currency (US dollars for most; some euros, pounds and one Czech koruna listing, which is excluded from medians), converted to a 30-day equivalent. Medians are shown without currency symbols for that reason.
Ratings: almost everyone gets five stars
42 of 51 rated groups (82%) score 4.8 or higher on Whop, and the median is 4.91. Whop only lets paying members review, so the ratings are real, but they bunch so tightly at the top that a 4.9 and a 4.7 tell you little. Unlike the wider market of 304 paid communities we track, pricier reselling groups here do rate somewhat higher (rank correlation +0.36 across 50 groups), which suggests that the better-equipped monitor and ticket groups charge more for a reason. It is a modest association, not a guarantee.
Red flags we counted
- 15 of 51 (29%) advertise income or profit figures. These are seller claims; none are verified and most members will not match them.
- 3 guarantee results, which no reselling group can do.
- 5 state that all sales are final.
- 4 operate mainly in a language other than English.
- 7 have too few reviews to judge.
Buyer checklist before you subscribe
- Work out the break-even. A 35-a-month group has to find you 35 of profit after fees, shipping and unsold stock before it pays for itself.
- Read the low-star reviews first. With 4.8+ almost everywhere, complaints are the useful signal.
- Check the refund terms on the Whop checkout page, not in the Discord.
- Match the group to your market. UK and EU groups track different retailers and events from US ones.
- Ignore income screenshots. They show the best weeks of the best members.
- Start monthly. Lifetime and yearly plans lock you in before you know whether the alerts fit how you buy.
- For tickets, check the law where you sell — see below.
Ticket groups and the new resale rules
Ticket groups were the most expensive type in our data, typically 50 to 80 a month in US dollars, euros or pounds. Several US jurisdictions changed the rules in 2026:
- Washington, D.C. — the RESALE Act, approved on 16 July 2026 and in force from 1 January 2027, caps resale of concert and theatre tickets at 120% of face value including fees, bans selling tickets the seller does not hold, and requires anyone reselling more than 50 tickets a year to register and post a $25,000 bond. Sporting events are excluded.
- California — AB 1349, signed on 29 September 2026, bans speculative or "ghost" ticket listings and misleading resale advertising. A separate bill to cap resale prices (AB 1720) did not advance.
- Massachusetts — the governor proposed a 110% resale cap and a 10% fee limit in July 2026; it was not law when we checked.
- Maine passed a face-value-based resale cap in 2025.
For members of ticket groups, the practical effect is that the margin a group's alerts can produce now depends on where the event is. Reviews of the ticket groups we track: Akari Tickets, Ticketwave, Insiderz, Book of Alpha, Friends and Family, Tickio, Retail.go. This is a summary of public sources, not legal advice.
Selling your own group?
If you run a reselling group, the platform fee on each subscription matters as much as the price. Our sister site compares what 13 platforms charge per sale.
Method and disclosure
Listings are the paid reselling communities live on Whop that we track, captured from public pages in September 2026 and updated on 5 October 2026. Recurring prices were converted to a 30-day equivalent; ratings and review counts are as shown on Whop; group types were assigned from each listing's own description. The wider study of 304 paid communities is on our research page. This site is a Whop affiliate and earns a commission when readers join through its links; commission rates did not enter this analysis.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a paid reselling group cost?
Across 51 paid reselling groups sold on Whop, the median price was 34.64 per 30 days in the listed currency (mostly US dollars, some euros and pounds), with the middle half between 21 and 72. Collectible-card groups were the cheapest and ticket groups the most expensive.
Are reselling group reviews reliable?
42 of 51 rated groups (82%) score 4.8 or higher on Whop, so the star rating alone does not separate them. Read the one- and two-star reviews and check how recent the reviews are.
Do reselling groups offer refunds?
5 of 51 listings state that sales are final. Most leave refunds to the seller's discretion, so read the terms on the Whop checkout page before paying.
Is ticket reselling legal?
It depends on where you sell. Washington, D.C. caps resale at 120% of face value including fees from 1 January 2027 and requires anyone reselling more than 50 tickets a year to register. California banned selling tickets you do not yet hold (speculative or "ghost" tickets) in a law signed on 29 September 2026. This is a summary, not legal advice.
